As soon as you have been fully saved.
Right now, no one on earth has been fully saved. We are BEING saved. Some aspects of salvation are past tense, some are present and some are future.
As soon as you have your new glorified body after appearing before the judgement seat of Christ you will be“once saved always saved”! Hallelujah!
It’s totally nuts, and certainly also rebellion to celebrate salvation now as if it is fully complete.
Jesus said we have a responsibility to continue to the END.
13. “But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24:13
God will help you and you cannot do this without Him, but make no mistake you are part of the process, as scripture shows very clearly. Many scary threats await those who give up prematurely or fall away.
As Pawson says so succinctly, “nobody believes in assurance of salvation because of what they read in the Bible”. We have to face the fact that the doctrine of “once saved always saved” or “assurance of salvation” comes from sermons dogma and doctrine , and not from clear scripture.
We must allow the scripture to say what it wants to say and not read our dogma into it.
Scripture refers to salvation very clearly in three tenses, past, present and future.
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Ephesians 2:5
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:8
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
2 Timothy 1:9
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Titus 3:5
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:15
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1 Peter 3:21
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:21
“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who ENDURES TO THE END will be saved.
Matthew 10:22
“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who ENDURES TO THE END shall be saved.
Mark 13:13
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.10. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Romans 5:9-10
If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
1 Corinthians 3:15
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
1 Timothy 4:16
But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
Jude 5
in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—23. if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Colossians 1:22-23
Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,2. all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,3. all ate the same spiritual food,4. and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.5. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.6. Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.7. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”8. Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;9. nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;10. nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.11. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.12. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 10:1-12
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:2
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
John 15:6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,5. and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,6. if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.7. For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God;8. but if it bears thorns and briars, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
Hebrews 6:4-8
Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.36. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
“For yet a little while,
And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
Hebrews 10:35-39
11. This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
12. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
24. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25. To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.
Jude 24-25
